Privacy + Data Policy
Our data promises
We're going to keep this as simple as possible. This policy relates to the data we keep and use from visitors to this website, clients/potential clients and attendees/potential attendees to any of our online workshops:
- We only collect the type of data mentioned on this page.
- We will never sell your data or give it to other people to use to contact you.
- We will only use your data for MeetBetter stuff, it's not being harvested for other reasons.
- We use tools such as Google Workspace, Canva, Mailchimp and WordPress plugins to make work, your data may be hosted/processed on their servers but still used only by us.
What data we collect, and why
There's only a few ways we get data from/about you. They are:
- You register for an event.
- Whatever answers you give on a registration form, this usually includes your name, occupation and email address.
- We use these details to contact you and to help the facilitator prepare for the session.
- You send us a message
- Whatever you've written in that message and the email address or social media account you sent it from.
- We use this data to deal with your query and contact you back.
- We have a conversation (e.g. in a meeting or at a workshop)
- We take notes during our conversations with clients and potential clients.
- Our workshops are often filled with hands-on activities, so you may have opportunities to share ideas and experiences. The facilitator often takes notes during meetings and sessions and there is often written work done during the sessions (e.g. on post it notes or virtual whiteboards)
- We use these notes and work products to remember what was spoken about.
- When you fill in a form
- Your answers to the questions on the form e.g. Name, occupation, rating, feedback
- We use feedback to improve our offerings. We also share them publicly to encourage others to use our services, but only include your name in public posts if you give us express permission.
- We use survey information for research purposes or, where we are working with your organisation, to help identify common concerns.
- Any form that collects data for marketing purposes (i.e. to contact you directly to offer our services) will be clearly identified and will ask you to confirm you understand that filling in the form will lead to us contacting you directly.
- Any marketing emails received as a result of filling in such a form will have a clear 'Unsubscribe' link.
- When you visit different pages on the website
- What pages are visited and when - this is anonymous and is to see what's popular and what's not working
- We research a client, potential client or attendee
- Our work involves getting to know how your organisation, your team and your leadership style works so we can personalise our messages, training and facilitation to your needs. To help with this, we will often take notes from content published on public websites (e.g. your company website, LinkedIn).
- If we need to collect data for any reason other than those above, we will expressly explain to you why.
Who we share your data with
We don't sell or give away your data for others to use.
To run our business, we use a few different, common tools such as Google Workspace (i.e. Sheets, Docs, Gmail, Slides), Mailchimp (to send emails), Canva (to design stuff that looks good) and different WordPress plugins (e.g. Ninja Forms for the Contact form). Your data may be held and processed on their servers, but it's still only being used by us. If you want a full list of the tools we use that hold some of your data, just send us a message through the contact form or website.
If we are working with your organisation, we will usually share a report of our work and findings with the organisation. These reports will include data collected from surveys, interviews, workshops etc.
